A couple of months ago we took the baby to the ER after a nail polish remover incident. We were all getting ready for church and Shelby decided she wanted her nails painted. She only wanted her daddy to do it so he put his skills to the test. When Shelby's nails turned out not so pretty looking he decided to get the nail polish remover out and take off the nail polish. He set the open nail polish remover on the bathroom countertop and started taking the polish off. Well our super speedy little boy some how managed to get around his dad and dump half of the bottle of remover onto his face and in his eye. Luckily Blaine thought quickly and stuck him in the shower (where I was the entire time this was going on) to flush out his eye and get it off of his skin. The baby freaked out and was screaming like crazy. His eye progressively got worse over the next hour so we took him to the ER to get the redness checked out. They checked for any scratches or burns on his eye (thankfully there were none) and then they literally strapped him down and flushed his eye out with a liter of saline solution. He wasn't happy the rest of the day and it took him a couple of days to get used to the bath again (he didn't like any type of fluid near his eye). We did get cuddles the whole day which is very rare from our active child.
